The appeal of writing Haiku poetry is the enjoyment of condensing a large issue into three lines of text, with five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third line. This is pleasurable and therapeutic for me. Each poem triggers a memory or lesson to be learned. Each is a mental picture, with economy of words, to explain a great deal of information.
